The Question That Wins Interviews

One of the most telling moments in any interview comes right at the end…
“Do you have any questions for us?”
And too often, the answer is: “Eh… no, I think you’ve covered everything.”
That answer quietly costs people opportunities.
Because asking thoughtful questions isn’t just a formality — it’s your chance to demonstrate genuine interest, curiosity, and intent. It shows you’re not just looking for a job, you’re thinking about your future in that job.
The best candidates don’t switch off at the end of an interview — they lean in.
Here are three simple but powerful questions I always recommend:
What do you like most about working here?
(This gives you real insight into the culture)
What does the career path look like for this role?
( Shows ambition and that you’re thinking long-term)
Can you tell me about the team or manager I’d be working with?
( Demonstrates you care about the environment you’ll be part of)
Interviews are a two-way street.
When you ask strong questions, you shift from being “interviewed”… to being someone they can already picture in the role.
And that’s where the real advantage lies.
Are you ready?
