Why should I work with a Career Coach or a Mentor? How can they help me?

Working with me as a Mentor or a Career Coach can help you to look at all aspects of your life both in your career and your personal life, to help you find out what you really want, and then help you to plan ahead to reach your goals.

As your Mentor or Career Coach I will challenge you and will make you accountable for your actions and decisions, put your feet to fire sort of speak. This can be hard learning process, so you have to be open minded, honest with yourself and be truly fully invested in the process so it works for you.

Needless to say, the relationship and chemistry with me as a coach is really important if we want to be successful.

The purpose of my coaching is to make you ‘think’.

  • Think about who you are.

  • Think about your present employment and the job you do.

  • Think about where you want to be in your life.

  • Think about the kind of lifestyle you would like and to understand what is affecting it today like stress.

  • Think about what success looks like to you.

  • Think about what matters to you including your values.

  • Think about other factors that impact your life and decisions.

And when you have started to think, I as your Coach will then question you in order to help you recognise challenges in your life right now, and to try to identify what you may face in the future. This provides you a roadmap that leads to uncovering what you really want and I will help you take the steps that you need to take to move forward in that direction.

I as your Career Coach, or Mentor will then work with you as you progress along our agreed path. This is an opportunity to evaluate what you are doing every step of the way and to take time to evaluate and celebrate any success while improving your self-awareness.

Who benefits from working with me a Career Coach or a Mentor?

  • Anyone wanting to progress in their career.

  • Anyone who feels overlooked in the workplace.

  • Anyone who lost the enjoyment of their job.

  • Anyone wishing to change or pivot career.

What might coaching and mentoring ask of the client?

There is no defined timescale for coaching as it depend on the individual  – it can be a long, short or on-going process. It is usual to have regular meetings with me as your Coach or Mentor, whether weekly, fortnightly or monthly its your choice as the client. This self-development means that:

  • You may have to acknowledge the mistakes you have made.

  • You may have to change your behaviour.

  • You may have to devote more time to work.

  • You may have to study.

  • You will have to network.

  • You will have to focus and improve your self-awareness.
